Cogar is a privately owned Civil Design and Construction Company specialising in the Telecommunications Industry. Founded over 29 years ago and based in Melbourne, the business is well known and respected in the utilities sectors in which it operates. Following the success of contracts in the Gas and Water industry it was decided to expand into the Telecommunications utilities. The Telecommunications sector was undertaking major change and reform that would result in opportunities for the private sector. 

Cogar has established long-term relationships with corporate clients within the industry.

The duration of our relationships with such clients is a testament to our capacity to meet contractual requirements within set time limits and to a high standard of quality. This is best demonstrated through our 29 year relationship with Victoria's Gas Industry, which has seen us complete major gas construction projects such as the complete gas reticulation of Healesville township, and the re-gassing of Cockatoo, Emerald, Belgrave and Monbulk areas following the Ash Wednesday bushfires. This relationship is ongoing through the Natural Gas Distribution Company, Origin Energy. 

Cogar has been carrying out Civil Design and Construction and hauling, both optic and copper for the last 11 years.

Cogar is also working with Silcar Pty Ltd, (Siemens/Theiss joint venture), on the Government 'Smart Schools' Program throughout Melbourne.

Cogar also provides specialised services to leading companies such as Thiess Services and has completed two major projects on the MAB Docklands Development site.

MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE

Founded in 1977, by the present Managing Director, Cogar operates throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. . 

The company has a reputation for excellence in utilities,
construction, maintenance and trenchless technology particularity in the Telecommunications, Gas, and Water industries. Cogar is now building upon this success by expanding its operation to meet the challenges coming from the utilities industry and foraging new relationships with other Global Clients. To meet this commitment Cogar is engaging key personnel with proven relevant skills and experience.

Cogar maintains a very flat structure. Consultants on an "as needed basis", this assisting in maintaining this structure, support the management team. 

A dedicated team of subcontractors supports in-house resources. All subcontractors used have experience and skills relevant to the industry. While a number of subcontractors are used on a permanent basis, others are brought in as workloads dictate.
